Serve in Kenya

We believe that long-term missions begin with short-term missions. Whether you are a goer or a sender, you have a role in fulfilling the Great Commission.

Remembering vulnerable people isn’t a calling for a select few, it is a command for every believer. There are so many ways to serve those who have been pushed to the margins in our world, and we are here to help you use your gifts, talents, and resources to respond to this biblical command.

Mission Trips With Eden’s Hope

Have you ever experienced pure contentment in a place you didn’t expect to find it? That was the feeling I got my first time in Kenya. From street ministry, feeding programs, teaching the gospel, prison ministry, and more— I have loved every second spent in Kenya. I’ve built relationships with many people, including a few that I still speak to on a daily basis. I expected to pour into these friends, but they continually show me the love of Christ and encourage me in more ways than I ever could’ve imagined. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to travel to Kenya so many times, and I can’t wait to see what Eden’s Hope is doing in Kenya in person!

-Mattie Collier

“Going to Kenya changed my life. Not because of all the people I helped, or because it made me thankful for what I have, but because I saw how the love of Christ spans to the ends of the Earth. Jesus loves and died for every single one of us, regardless of where we’re born or how we grew up. I experienced the love of Christ by seeing how God will use us, change us, and connect us to others when our desire for Him is stronger than our desire for this world. God broke down barriers, and truly showed me what it means to be a sister in Christ, forming relationships that will last a lifetime. I’ll forever be grateful for how the Lord worked in and through my life during my time in Kenya. I can’t wait to go back to serve alongside Eden’s Hope!”

-Rachel Harreld

“I was part of a team from Eden Church that went on a mission trip to Kenya in 2019. We visited schools, orphanages, churches, and a prison with the goal of teaching people about the gospel of Jesus and uplifting our Kenyan brothers and sisters in Christ. I am in awe of the work that we saw God perform in our lives and the lives of others. We saw dozens of people surrender their lives to Christ and built lifelong friendships. That mission trip changed my life and continues to remind me of God’s faithfulness, power, and love.”

-Jonathan Hamby

“I was born and raised in Kenya, Africa and met friends that became family in 2019 when Eden Church brought a team to Kenya. Meeting individuals from this group changed my life completely. In 2023, I was diagnosed with heart failure and was told that I needed to have a double valve replacement in my heart. I didn’t know what to do or how I was going to survive this. Once I reached out to Rachel who I had met from Eden Church, I knew I was no longer alone. Rachel as well as others from Eden worked around the clock to make sure I got the best hospital and care. They sacrificed their time and came to be with me for surgery. They took responsibility for raising the money even when it seemed impossible, treated me like family, and never walked out on me even though I was facing death. At my lowest, they stood by me and held my hand, cared for me, and prayed over me. Thank you so much for showing me the Love of Christ.”
